Tomorrow I’ll take another picture of these in the sunlight….
Ok..so funny thing. Today I had a “blah” day…it’s not cool because it’s my two day weekend and I don’t know of anyone in the world who spends a two weekend feeling blah.. I don’t why but today was my day. So, after laying around all day..overdosing on Words With Friends—-so far, I’m that good!— I was perusing the internet and I came across something called “spun sugar nails.” I found it while looking at nail pics on Pinterest and it led me to Make Withdrawal’s nail blog. She included a link of a video on someone making really thin lines on a base coat of whatever color you like. It’s a little difficult, because you have to allow the polish to become a little tacky and dry and with a dotting tool…toothpick…needle…drag strings of it across your nail. So, because I was feeling rather “blah” and trying to motivate myself to do something other than Words With Friends..I gave it a try and this was my attempt. I like it. I used Essie’s Ole Caliente as a base color and Sinful Colors Unicorn for the strings.. If your interested in checking out Makeup Withdrawal’s blog, here’s a link:
Check her out..lots of nice ideas.. and for the strings video here are several to see:
and this has been my contribution to the world of nails today…
ok, I got my inspiration from this person..
She did a beautiful pink/blue gradient. I wanted to attempt to do another gradient myself..usually me and gradients don’t go together.. They just always seem a little off to me. This one however came out pretty good! I like it. I added a little glitter/shimmer to the tips..
Little L.B. continues to do extremely well..
Peace out home skillets! :)
I’ve had a rough week…My poor little dog, L.B. was ill with pancreatitis. Thankfully, he’s on the mend..I’ve never cried nor prayed so much! So the Big Guy upstairs listened, and L.B. is slowly but surely getting back to his old self! So, today, I thought about a manicure to dedicate to L.B.’s will power to get better..and I came up with this. I was inspired by many a Ruffian manicure but none with multicolors. So this is for L.B. :) Love you L.B.! :)
Ok..I’m a little disappointed because this doesn’t photograph as fabulous as it looks in person. It’s very iridescent.. I used 3 different nail polishes. I used Pure Ice All Night Long as the base. Then I combined two different blues, Loreal Jet Set to Paris and Sally Hansen Blew Me Away. I dabbed it over the Pure Ice color..almost creating an Ombre nail effect. After those three dried, I applied the nail foil, Ocean Mist scantily over the top.. GOR-SHWAH!!!!
I remembered I had this box of foils that I got a few years ago…and for some reason felt compelled at 330a to use this… I kinda like this look…very retro-ish..
